Defensively Registering Domains: Psst, your park gate is open…

Reading Time | 6 Minutes

I encountered another billboard while on my home that made me think about the importance of defensively registering domains.

I was able to quickly and safely pull off the road to capture a snapshot as the billboard stuck out to me for a number of reasons.

The billboards’s blue, white, and black hues are simple in design and layout, having an appealing white call-to-action text on a blue background.

Next, the billboard contained the logo and blue text describing its services placed on a white background.

Finally, at the bottom of the billboard in white text on a background was the domain name and phone number.

Most importantly, the billboard was well designed and well positioned for the nearly 180K plus Austin-based drivers that pass it daily along highway 183.

Is GE the next Enron? GEFraud.com thinks so!

It’s been almost 2 decades since the proverbial house of cards collapsed in what was then the largest accounting fraud scandal and Chapter 11 bankruptcy in history, since surpassed by Worldcom during 2002 and Lehman Brothers during 2008 — sparking what would become the Great Recession.

In the same year as the Lehman Brothers shuttered and ceased existing, there was also another massive fraud event that tipped the scales when Harry Markopolos famously blew the whistle on Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.

Well, it’s over a decade later, and Markopolos has resurfaced again with his eyes targeted firmly on General Electric (GE).

Austin Dance Camps Arrive Just-In-Time for Summer

Reading Time | 3 Minutes

Well this week marks the end of a school year for quite a few families throughout the greater Austin metroplex.

It’s music to my ears to hear that school is out and traffic will be lessened for the next 3 months with not school buses or school related vehicles congesting the streets and highways. ?

It really doesn’t impact me all that much, seeing my commute is nothing but three minutes from the front door of my home to the door of my office.

With kiddos not old enough to be in the school cycle yet, I was reminded the school year had come to an end as I passed a few fliers at Rudy’s promoting camps and activities just-in-time for summer.

The Austin Heat, Domains, and Annual Memorial Day CapTexTri

Can’t believe it’s been one year since last Memorial Day and giving for the honorable men and women graciously deciding to serve and protect the United States of America, many having lost their lives. ??

My family and I kicked off Memorial Day quite early than many folks — literally our day started just before 6 am CST.

As we did last year, we made our way down to Auditorium Shores to support our friend and spiritual daughter as she participated, competed, and placed 3rd in the Sprint Course for her age group at the Annual Memorial Day CapTexTri.

Welcome to Texas Emoji Stickers Have Arrived!

While meeting a friend for a long overdue lunch at good ole’ Rudy’s BBQ here in Austin, Texas, I stumbled upon an interesting advertisement.

As most of you know, emoji have nearly hit every corner of the earth as one of the hottest forms of communication, especially amongst Gen-Xers, millennials and younger.

In fact, emoji have not only found their way into email marketing for businesses, but are even making a splash as domains. Yes, emoji domains are real!

But as for this particular ad, it appears that “Talkin’ Texan Just Ain’t Gonna Be The Same” with the latest release of Texas Emoji Stickers app (released February 22, 2018).

Austin Auction Gallery

Today kicked off another weekend of auctioning for a well-known auction gallery here in Austin.

Although their specialty is antiques and fine art, the Austin Auction Gallery opens for auction today and tomorrow at 10AM for an estates auction.

Little did I realize, I’ve passed this family owned and operated business a number of times to and from going to get a haircut.

Western Day, Pony Rides, and Domains

It’s hard to believe our oldest son will begin school this upcoming year.

Five years has flown by and many memories have been made, especially with the addition of his 3 year-old brother and 1 year-old sister.

With time flying by, I’m taking advantage of every opportunity to cherish, enjoy, and relish in the their moments.

Before long, they’ll all have graduated and striking out into the world to make a sizable and lasting societal contribution, fulling God’s purpose for their lives.

But this day, the current objective at hand for both boys were Western Day Pony Rides.

Simply an early morning Splash ’n Dash of domains

Reading Time | 4 Minutes

A few months ago, our good friend that competed in Austin’s CapTex Triathlon recently competed in the 2017 USAT Aquathlon National Championship, hosted by Pure Austin Fitness at Pure Austin Quarry Lake.

In general, triathlons are a new experience and a whole new world for me to understand.

More so, having a triathlon athlete living with us has opened my and my family’s minds and lives to the importance of healthy living.

It’s not like we didn’t know prior, but actively living life with our “oldest daughter” has brought about a good and positive change in the House of Brown.

Nevertheless, I hadn’t heard of the USAT Aquathlon National Championship, but learned that it’s simply an early morning Splash ’n Dash. 🙂

Achieving a .Life of Nutrition Counseling and Worksite Wellness

It’s not often that you think of the words nutrition and wellness in conjunction with Rudy’s BBQ (no offense Rudy’s). 🙂

But as I made my way from the parking lot into Rudy’s for my bi-weekly early Saturday morning meeting, I jumpstarted my brain by perusing Rudy’s local business ad cork boards.

There are a number of business cards, post cards, posters, placards, and more that are posted on four 4 x 6 cork boards adhered to the external walls of Rudy’s just before entering the store.

Because I love domains so much, I take my time viewing each cork and reviewing the number of advertisements posted on each. This also gives my eyes and mind time to adjust, being it’s just after 6 in the morning.

Nevertheless, a particular ad caught my eye due to the email address it used.
