Austin Auction Gallery

Today kicked off another weekend of auctioning for a well-known auction gallery here in Austin.

Although their specialty is antiques and fine art, the Austin Auction Gallery opens for auction today and tomorrow at 10AM for an estates auction.

Little did I realize, I’ve passed this family owned and operated business a number of times to and from going to get a haircut.

Western Day, Pony Rides, and Domains

It’s hard to believe our oldest son will begin school this upcoming year.

Five years has flown by and many memories have been made, especially with the addition of his 3 year-old brother and 1 year-old sister.

With time flying by, I’m taking advantage of every opportunity to cherish, enjoy, and relish in the their moments.

Before long, they’ll all have graduated and striking out into the world to make a sizable and lasting societal contribution, fulling God’s purpose for their lives.

But this day, the current objective at hand for both boys were Western Day Pony Rides.

Simply an early morning Splash ’n Dash of domains

A few months ago, our good friend that competed in Austin’s CapTex Triathlon recently competed in the 2017 USAT Aquathlon National Championship, hosted by Pure Austin Fitness at Pure Austin Quarry Lake.

In general, triathlons are a new experience and a whole new world for me to understand.

More so, having a triathlon athlete living with us has opened my and my family’s minds and lives to the importance of healthy living.

It’s not like we didn’t know prior, but actively living life with our “oldest daughter” has brought about a good and positive change in the House of Brown.

Nevertheless, I hadn’t heard of the USAT Aquathlon National Championship, but learned that it’s simply an early morning Splash ’n Dash. 🙂

Discovering vehicles (and domains) at “Touch a Truck”

Despite the Texas Longhorns giving an early Christmas gift win to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in overtime on an ill-advised lob for an interception, it’s been a long but good weekend.

The highlight of today was a field trip over to City of Round Rock’s “Touch a Truck”, which was a hit with our boys.

My wife and I didn’t know what to expect, but it was an event full of horn honking, lights and sirens, and vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and kinds.

Is an abbreviated geo service domain an option for your brand?

It was another fun-filled weekend of Town and Country Soccer. If you remember in my last post, I thought summer had passed.

Boy was I wrong about that! It was quite hot this past weekend, especially for a 1:30 pm soccer game for 4-6 year olds. Nevertheless, our little team did well.

They did have to substitute a bit more due to the heat, and we had a few heat-related crying episodes on the sidelines too. But nothing a gatorade and quick snack couldn’t remedy. 😉

Domains Bringing Summer Fun in the Sun on Lake Travis

It’s heating up in Texas, and things are getting quite active around Volente Beach.

As I work the days away, I often see party buses to and fro with intense beach laughter and frolicking.

There’s a bit more loud music playing throughout the day than the norm, and the marina island is always packed with a party barge or two in full effect.

Truth be told, it’s quite a refreshing view to experience new ownership spicing things up around the sleepy village of Volente.

Pest Control Services Going Green With Domains

I’m back with another domain spotting. This time I didn’t have to travel as far as we did for family pictures.

I decided to stay home one day this week to celebrate our daughter turning 1 and boy #2 turning 3 years old.

I was walking out of the front door of our home to take out the trash and spotted a service truck in front of my neighbors yard.

I really didn’t pay much attention to as I headed back into the house.

But then the the domain stood out to me when I noticed the gentleman walking the exterior of my neighbors home was a pest control technician.

Pest control companies always peek my interest because there are quite a number here in Austin, Texas.

Fourth of July Family Pictures and a Few Domains

Of course, it was a bright and early here in Austin, Texas, and the House of Brown has beat the sun up for a fun and exciting day.

That’s right, we took family pictures to celebrate the 4th of July, birthdays for boy #2 and girl (born the same day two years apart, turning 3 and 1 respectively), and simply another family milestone.

We loaded up and headed to Buda, Texas just 20 minutes south of Austin.

Our destination for family pics, Buda’s Historic Stagecoach Park, was chosen by a longtime family friend, Hanna Mac Photography.

Generating business before, during, and after rolling blackouts with a geo service domain

It’s another day here in the great metropolis of Austin, Texas, also known as Hill Country.   And it’s that time of the year where the sun is brutal on everyone and everything crazy enough to challenge it.

I was recently reminded of the increased sweltering heat as I sat outside a Starbucks meeting with and assisting a customer with their search marketing efforts for their website.

So much so that I begin craving for a pool and good ole’ AC.  Regardless, the thermometer here in Texas is ALWAYS inching its way just north of the high 90’s and consistently.

Not only is the temp going up, but our summer utility bills often times act as if they’re in an arms race to orbit and reach Mars first, leaving winter bills a distant memory of the past.

Defensively Registering Domains: Psst, your park gate is open…

I encountered another billboard while on my home that made me think about the importance of defensively registering domains.

I was able to quickly and safely pull off the road to capture a snapshot as the billboard stuck out to me for a number of reasons.

The billboards’s blue, white, and black hues are simple in design and layout, having an appealing white call-to-action text on a blue background.

Next, the billboard contained the logo and blue text describing its services placed on a white background.

Finally, at the bottom of the billboard in white text on a background was the domain name and phone number.

Most importantly, the billboard was well designed and well positioned for the nearly 180K plus Austin-based drivers that pass it daily along highway 183.
